- To verify brand mentions for brand campaigns (location and ambient verification only)
4. Location Data (GDPR Specific)
We collect GPS location data only with your explicit consent. You can enable or disable location tracking in Settings at any time.
- How we use it: Verify brand mentions are from different locations, create aggregated heatmaps for brands
- Who sees it: Your exact GPS coordinates are never shared. Brands see only aggregated location data (e.g., "mentions in London")
- How long we keep it: Precise GPS coordinates are deleted after 12 months. Aggregated data is retained indefinitely.
- Your rights: You can request deletion of location data anytime. You can disable location tracking in Settings.
5. Audio & Speech Data
Important: We do NOT record, store, or transmit your voice or audio files. Speech recognition happens locally in your browser using the Web Speech API. Only the transcribed text (the words you said) is sent to our servers.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. However, we may share data in these cases:
- Brand Campaigns: If you participate in a brand campaign, the brand sees your word counts for their brand name, your location (aggregated), and your verification score. They do NOT see your personal information or other words you said.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your data if required by law or to protect our rights.
- Service Providers: We may share data with third parties who assist us (e.g., payment processors, analytics providers). These providers are bound by confidentiality agreements.
7. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
- All data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS
- Data at rest in our database is encrypted
- Backups are encrypted
- We perform regular security audits

9. Data Retention

Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete such information and terminate the child's account.
